Day 40: A Fact Web for Angles

We’ve begun our investigation of angle relationships in my geometry class, and that means it’s time to gear up our Gray-Board-of-Geometry-Facts Fact Web.

It’s important to me that my students get a real feel for how different facts/propositions/theorems fit together into a coherent, interconnected logical whole. Creating a flexible, large, public space that’s a sandbox for these facts and their connections is, I think, an important way to help them gain this. It provides a focal point for our discussions and also lends a sense of forward and cumulative progress to our work. We’ll also be creating an internetty version of our fact web here.
